Sometimes I can see and sometimes I can't. Today, I got out of my body and I went outside, but I couldn't see anything. I tried to open my eyes, but I was back in my body. What are the techniques for seeing in the phase?

I'll answer that with a quote from one of my actual phase experiences:

"While lying motionless in bed I tried imagining that I could feel my hands touching the dashboard of the car. Gradually the feeling of being in bed faded and the feeling of sitting in the car returned. Unfortunately at this point I was still staring into complete darkness unable to see anything. Luckily I recalled the hand peering technique from the practical guidebook and began to perform the technique hoping it would create vision.

I put my hands in front of my eyes and continuously turned them over from side to side. Slowly out of the blackness I saw faint colourless versions of my hands appear. Gradually the rest of the car and the beach through the windows appeared as well. In order to deepen the state I continuously shifted my focus by looking at distant objects and then back at my hands. Eventually everything was filled with colour and became photorealistic. My vision was so crisp that I could see the individual lines in my skin while looking at my hands."

In other words you should:
- Palpate (touch your sourroundings rapidly)
- Put your hands to your face and turn them over multiple times
- Look and distant then close objects over and over to increase clarity

Yes, palpation is a powerful technique. I often rub my hands against each other and blow on them at the same time. I feel a hot stream of air coming from my mouth and then I watch as this magical stream starts "spray painting" colour and light everywhere as I move my head.

Ultimately, highly defined environments of a flamboyant and exuberant nature, unlike anything found in the physical world, are born.

Fantastic... But which hand technique? Rapidly touching things (palpation) or flipping them over infrount of your eyes? Or maybe peering at your hands then distant objects...
