Re: The Phase Workshop

I can't recreate places in the phase, but I haven't tried it too much because I typically don't care exactly where I am. I used to enter the phase and be in a projection of my house. Now I am almost always in a building or area completely unfamiliar to me. I suppose focusing on entering a familiar p...

Re: LawPaw's Blog

Once again it's been ages.  I had another kid last month, which actually has helped me practice the phase more often. Couple of highlights in the last several months: 1.  I had a reality check fail me.  I plugged my nose and tried to exhale several times in the phase and could not do it (meaning I w...

Re: Mind-reading, decoding the brain, "hearing" thoughts!

Video Recording my nightmares was something I always wanted to do as A kid because I had the most amazing adventures... Phase practice has made me appreciate dreams to the point that I sometimes prefer them to the phase.  I like the unpredictability of dreams, plus I don't have to work so hard at d...

I'd be careful here, because this idea destroys the definition of the phase.

Overcoming dreams

Occasionally I will awaken from a dream in a perfect state to quickly enter the phase; however, the dream that I awaken from is so vivid and jarring that it is difficult for me to focus into entering the phase because I am thinking about the dream.  Anybody else ever had this problem?  Should I just...

Re: Chris' Phase Experiences

Try not to use alarms. Your body knows when you are at the optimum part of REM (the top before you cycle back down) better than an alarm. This is the part of sleep where we all wake up momentarily but don't remember that we do.  If you have strong intention to wake up, you will catch these moments n...

Re: "Dream Characters" and Conflict

Michael, what you said about similar experiences relating to similar people is very interesting to me. I'm sure when phasing becomes more mainstream people will be able to collect data on similar experiences and show correlations with certain behavior/personality traits.  Like all things I doubt the...

Re: Memory Curruption caused by entering the phase!

Memory is inherently corrupt.  This has been shown time and time again.  In the legal world, we say that memory is "active".  Something we need to keep in mind when we visit places from the past while in the phase or arguing with a SO over what the two of you "really" said. ;) I ...

I noticed that the new version of SOBT is now available at Amazon. There are only 4 reviews and the first one is not completely favorable.  If you have something to say, it would be nice to see justice served.  Hopefully new reports will overtake the older reviews. The first review is very favorabl...

Re: The Phase Car Technique

I find it very difficult to get any sort of vision based on imagining.  In other words, I do see pictures but if I try to force them or even focus on them too much I lose them. I may try something like this, except that I would imagine I am in the driver seat and try to hear those sounds.  Then I wo...

Re: Nicholas Newport and lucidology.com?

I've read his stuff. It's alot like Raduga's only about 100x more difficult. The beauty of the SOBT techniques is that it focuses on practical methods that achieve optimal results and not in over-thinking a needlessly complicated system. If you want to learn a little bit more about how sleep paralys...

Re: Entering before you know you're awake

Lol. I suppose you are right about attitude effecting deepening in Lucid Dreams.  Slipping into a dream state is still usually how I exit the phase. Oddly, I frequently slip into sleep, then become lucid again later on and deepen just as well as when entering the phase from consciousness.  More evid...

Re: Entering before you know you're awake

I agree with what you're saying Summerlander. I believe it is all the same thing, the phase. The difference for me right now is that I find lucid dreams harder to deepen fully and to have a completely real experience. Scientifically believe their is also a slight difference: in an OBE you enter the ...

Re: Deferred method: How do you get multiple awakenings?

This is why it is important to only try the deferred method 3 times a week.  Otherwise it is very difficult to form the proper intention to wake up.

Entering before you know you're awake

This will be difficult to describe, so bear with me. Over the last few months I've been trying to train myself to enter the phase very quickly, almost pavlovian when waking up.  I tried a short alarm (4 beeps) but that didn't work. But a few times I have been able to separate before I realize that I...

I've tried riding motorcycles, but the speed makes it difficult for me to focus and I end up falling into sleep.

Why use a vehicle when I can fly or transport anywhere?

It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been around. Too busy to practice much the last few months.  I basically don't even try if I'm not getting enough good sleep. Taking a LONG break (probably a month) really paid off this morning. I slept 6 hours, got up for over an hour, then went back to...

Deepening to stay awake

I work at a computer all day most days.  Sometimes I get very sleepy. An interesting thing that I found is that deepening techniques work in reality.  In other words, they help me stay more awake. When I get tired I'll rub my hands, peer at objects, and when nobody is around I'll even spin in a few ...

Re: Ending the cycle of techniques

I find that I go in and out the phase very quickly before I find a moment where I am sure enough to really enter the phase (I say enter because I rarely actually "separate, but translocate instead). For me it's hard to know when I enter, but easy to tell when I have exited to my body. I'll sort...

Re: SMV - deepening without separation

This is good to know since I rarely separate.  Usually I just deepen when waken by imagined rubbing of my hands and body until I am out of my body.

I don't usually get sight though until I start touching the environment.

More accurately, I feel like I should focus on developing key skills in deepening and maintaining for the time being.

Sleep 6 hours, get up for at least 15 minutes (physically out of bed).  Then go back to sleep with a very strong intention of waking without moving AND remembering your dreams. Even if you don't enter the phase through this method, I can guarantee the clarity of your dreams will more than make up fo...

I wonder if this man was eating alot of carbohydrate before sleep? It was completely real agai...

I have more fun when my mind is a little bit hazy.  Just seems like it is easier to fly and do awesome things.  Also I'm surprised more because the environment is apt to quickly change spontaniously when my mind isn't so clear. Unfortunately the "fun" I have while in a hazy state often lea...

Re: Question about Phantom Wiggling

Phantom wiggling is very tough for me to use successfully. What I've noticed is that when I do move by sensation, frequently my real muscles will tense and this ruins the experience. I understand that I am suppose to do absolutely nothing with my real muscles, but no matter how relaxed and "sen...
